Short Version.... Paschal grew up in a lot of different states but finished grade school and high school in California. Played all sports through school and even managed to play football and basketball at Loyola Univ. of Los Angeles. But immediately ended up in the U.S. Navy ( Seabees ) for 4 years.Working both as a construction electrician and photographer. Upon release from the Navy moved to Rapid City SD with a close Navy friend from the area. That was in 1975, got on with the U.S. Post Office and has been there ever since. He met  Debra Branson at work and married her in '78, and they have been happily married ever since!(paschal got very lucky). Paschal continued his athletic ways taking on downhill skiing, bodybuilding and many years of 'Y' basketball. Also his interests in all things outdoors blossomed into hunting in general, archery elk hunting specifically with a lot of hiking,camping,trailrunning,backpacking thrown in as well. In '92 Deb made the mistake of encouraging him to join her in her hobby of horses. Big mistake, soon Paschal was running Arabian horses in 50/100 mile races in the sport of cross country endurance races!! Now having rode over 20,000 miles Paschal still can't get enough.  When Paschal graduated from St. Joseph's High of Santa Maria CA in 1970 he just started developing an interest in photography and through a couple lucky bounces was able to continue and learn on the clock for the Navy. Ever since he has carried a camera along photographing anything and everything. This would ebb and flow as his travels in life , hobbies and passions evolved. Just a few years ago he switched over to all digital equipment and fulfilled a life long dream: a darkroom.  It was a computer on the table with Photoshop software!! This has opened a whole new world as a photographer. Now the whole creative process was his own. From vision to shooting to editing to printing to finished and framed . This really lets the creative juices flow. Now with Deb's assistance and a lot of hard work KARL CREATIONS has been born. Sooo now Paschal's problem every day is how to divide his time up into horses, taking and working on photos, and working out! Oh yes and trying to find time to go to work for 8 hrs. every day. And every day the percentages of each change. It is quite a juggling act!!

Deb was born and raised in the Sioux Falls area of South Dakota. While attending college in Rapid City she met Paschal while working part time at the Post Office. They were married and she got on full time at the U.S. Post Office and has worked there ever since. Deb has always had horses in her life and has been active in the outdoors as well. She loves to travel. She sometimes travels with Paschal and sometimes she goes with girlfriends,family or on her own. She quickly fell into photography with Paschal. She has developed her own style  and way with a camera. Her older brother has since become a professional photographer of many years in the Omaha NE area.

KARL CREATIONS photo shoots.... our shoots are still evolving and we are very flexible, meaning we will try anything a client would like as far as lighting , props, outdoor locations, travelling etc... The one thing we do that has turned out quite nice is our portraiture, especially the casual outdoor shoot. While the client is directed and working with Paschal and the main camera, Deb plays the ' fly on the wall ' role and quietly continues to shoot from the sidelines catching a lot of great profile and 3/4 shots that prove to very popular. Paschal tends to be a risk taker of sorts in his style- cropping tight looking for that great shot. Where as Deb will back off and shoot a more relaxed and 'capture it all' style. The combination of 2 cameras working this way gives a wonderful collection of photos to work with.
